Because of the corona pandemic, “Taufkirchen shines” has to take place for the second time in a slimmed-down form.

Taufkirchen

- The organizers of “Taufkirchen lights” are frustrated.

Because like 2020, the meticulously planned major event can only take place in a slimmed-down version this year due to the worrying Corona situation.

"It was a joint decision among all those involved," emphasized Mayor Stefan Haberl at the press conference in the conference room.

Nobody liked it simply because they had already been very specific in the implementation for the Advent market and had the posters ready for printing.

Although there is no official ban on such events, the protection of the population and volunteers takes priority, said Haberl.

They had an excellent concept with enough space and a path that was not cramped.

Nevertheless: As in 2020, instead of the Advent market, there will only be a walk to 24 Advent windows that are exhibited by local shops.

In each one a part of a solution word can be discovered, which is to be entered on a card.

These are available in shops and are distributed in the community newspaper Kompass.

The Advent puzzle is just as attractive as last year, said press spokeswoman Renate Bauer. She thanked the chairman of the trade association Christa Scholz, who had worked tirelessly for this. With the support of traders and service providers, prizes worth 8,000 euros can be raffled off. This will be done on December 21st so that the winners can be informed personally. “You have to make a little effort to crack the very difficult answer,” explained Bauer.

The locations of the Advent windows are available at www.taufkirchen-leuchtet.de.

There will also be a nativity scene and an aerial photo exhibition in the ballroom and adjoining room of the moated castle.

Konrad Karbaumer from the municipal archive explained that it was about 60 large paper cribs with up to 100 figures that Benno Hofbrückl from Vilsbiburg made available.

In addition, 300 aerial photos allow a bird's eye view of home.

This can be admired on the four weekends in Advent and on January 1st, 2nd and 6th, on Fridays from 3pm to 6pm, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 2pm to 5pm.

Admission only with 2G proof, FFP2 mask and ID card.
