The incident occurred late Saturday evening, November 14th.

Cause of the loss of control?

According to the police, there was "apparently a medical cause" behind it.

During the entire journey through Lower Franconia, the vehicle collided with the guardrail several times.

In the area of ​​a construction site, it ran over numerous warning beacons.

Some road barriers were damaged in such a way that they partially protruded into the opposite lane.

The incident did not go undetected for long - and the police were informed about the serpentine trucks.


A patrol was able to locate the truck in the area of ​​the Würzburg-Kist junction. Officials then tried to draw the driver's attention with flashing lights, a siren and a stop signal - but he did not respond.

At the end of the chaos ride, the tractor finally came to a halt at the exit from the Kitzingen junction.

There the police convinced themselves of the critical health of the driver.

Rescue workers took the 48-year-old to the hospital.

No other road users were injured.



Because of the numerous damage and lengthy clean-up work, the A3 was closed for several hours on a stretch of around ten kilometers.

The lock was lifted early on Sunday morning, according to a police spokesman.
