On the Corona patrol through the city center: Munich is tightening the reins when it comes to fighting pandemics.

As announced, the police and the district administration department strictly monitor compliance with the corona rules.

And these are being tightened: 2G will soon apply in the catering industry - in restaurants or hotels you can only get convalescent or vaccinated.

Anyone who does not have a vaccination certificate can no longer get in with a negative test.

In addition, daycare operations are again limited, visits to retirement homes are only possible with a PCR test *.

What exactly does that mean, what those affected say about implementation:

Munich: Unvaccinated people are no longer allowed in restaurants and hotels

Those who have not been vaccinated or recovered are no longer allowed to go to the pub: In Munich, the 2G rule is now to apply to the catering trade. The city had already announced a corresponding general decree for today, which, however, had not yet been written by the time this issue went to press. As of tomorrow, the Free State no longer wants to let unvaccinated people in restaurants and hotels. Ninja Höfler and her partner Kristina run the Schiller Bräu in Schillerstraße and only recently opened the Wirtshaus zum Alten Wirt on Dreifaltigkeitsplatz. “Not much is changing with us. Almost no guests have come with a test ”, she reports. The vast majority are vaccinated. However, many reservations have recently been canceled. Karola Schmidt (51) from Munich supports 2G:"We have almost reached herd immunity, but the number of infections is still increasing," says the bank clerk. “It's just scary. More has to be done! "

The Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association is now calling for quick support in the form of further bridging aid for businesses.

He also criticizes the announcement that in clubs and discos only vaccinated and convalescent people are allowed to celebrate with a test.

This would set the hurdle for club attendance so high that “there will be a de facto lockdown for clubs and discos,” says President Angela Inselkammer.

A tightening is "neither proportionate nor expedient".

At the weekend, the police had already strictly checked compliance with the corona rules * in Munich *, 100 officers were additionally assigned.

Between Friday morning and Sunday morning, the police headquarters carried out a total of 733 corona checks - including in restaurants and clubs, but also, for example, in the area of body-friendly services.

14 violations were registered and one of the people checked received a warning.

13 received a complaint because of an administrative offense, mainly because of violations of the mask requirement.

Violations can cost a fine of 250 euros for guests and up to 5000 euros for restaurant operators.

Corona in Munich: Special rules for visitors in homes

Visiting relatives in the nursing home is expensive for the unvaccinated: Visitors who have neither been vaccinated nor recovered must show a negative PCR test in Munich with immediate effect.

In the test centers you have to reckon with prices starting at 70 euros.

The city of Munich is reacting to the worsening of the corona situation with the stricter visiting rules.

The city health department confirms that unvaccinated visitors to old people's and nursing homes have to pay for the PCR tests themselves.

Vaccinated and convalescent people now also need a test certificate - but a rapid antigen test is sufficient for them.

This was already the practice in some homes.

"We asked all visitors beforehand to be tested," says Christian Liesenhoff from Münchenstift.

Rapid tests are offered there on site.

"Unvaccinated visitors are in the minority."

According to the general decree, the tightening initially only applies in Munich.

Otherwise, a free quick test is sufficient in most of Bavaria.

Munich: The corona rules are now being tightened in daycare centers

The rules are tightened in the Munich daycare centers: As of today, children will be looked after in fixed groups again.

“With the fixed groups we reduce the contacts within the care facilities considerably.

This will slow down the spread of corona infections in the daycare centers, "says Mayor Verena Dietl (SPD):" We want to prevent even more drastic measures for families as possible. " Week should be tested.
