The Department of Adult Education in the Daraa Culture Directorate announced the opening of literacy courses in all towns and villages of the governorate for both genders over the age of 15.
Head of the Department of Adult Education in the Directorate of Culture, Hussein Arar, stated in a statement to SANA that the courses will be opened in any town or village where there are at least 15 male or female students within schools or government departments outside official working hours, indicating that the courses are on two levels, the first is for six months, and the second is for three Months.
According to Arar, at the end of the course, learners obtain a literacy certificate, indicating that the opportunity is open for teachers to participate in the courses with a high school diploma as a minimum.
Literacy courses for adults have been suspended in Daraa during the past years due to the terrorist war on Syria.
