Egypt's Ministry of Health said three people were stung to death by scorpions in the southern city of Aswan, and another 450 were injured by scorpion bites washed into streets and homes following severe storms in the Nile River area.
Along with the scorpions, after the severe floods many snakes were also observed in the area.
A health ministry official told the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram that authorities had provided more antibodies to medical centers in villages near mountains and deserts, and doctors had stopped giving vaccines to treat bites.
Residents were urged to stay in their homes and avoid places with many trees.
Egypt is home to two-toned deadly scorpions, one of the deadliest in the world.
Their venom can kill humans in less than an hour.
