Queen Elizabeth II will not attend the Memorial Day ceremony today (Sunday) due to a sprain in her back - it was reported from Buckingham Palace.
"Her Majesty is disappointed that she will miss the ceremony," the palace said in a statement.
The annual ceremony at London's Snotap was set to be the 95-year-old queen's first public appearance since she was advised to rest after a night in hospital last month.
Knowing that the Queen will not be attending the ceremony in central London, an event that she considers one of the most important this year, is likely to heighten concerns about her health after not being seen in public for the longest time during her reign.
A palace source said the sprain in her back was not linked to her unknown illness.
The source said it was a "very unfortunate" coincidence.
