Civil sources in the southern countryside of Qamishli told SANA reporter that the US Agency for Development began distributing 3000 tons of wheat seed to farmers in some areas of Qamishli countryside controlled by the SDF militia, specifically in Tal Hamis district and its affiliated gatherings, amid warnings of the distributed items.
In a statement to SANA reporter, the head of the governorate’s farmers’ union (Ahmed Kan) warned the farmers that receiving the seeds from an unreliable source, especially since they were not subjected to any analysis and testing within the laboratories of the relevant official institutions, because the only authority approved in seed distribution operations is the General Organization for Multiplication The seed, pointing out that the farmers “should be aware that the American occupier cannot provide good or benefit to the people of the region, especially as it steals our wealth and plunders our capabilities on a daily basis.”
For his part, the agricultural expert, Engineer Rajab Al-Salameh, said, “What concerns the entry of any plant or animal materials into the Syrian Arab Republic must be subject to a thorough examination in the agricultural quarantine centers and any material of a plant nature that may carry dangerous pests, viruses or nematodes, which are tape organisms that are endemic to The soil and cause future damage to agricultural lands, which leads to the deterioration of production, so we must not deal with seeds of unknown origin so as not to pose a threat to all agricultural crops.”
This aggressive behavior by Washington comes to strike the Syrian wheat crop, whose manufacturing specifications are of a high standard and are among the best types of wheat in the world, especially durum wheat, which has internationally desirable qualities.
