The obligation for companies to enable their employees to work from home expired in June.

Apparently the federal government is planning a new edition.

Berlin - In view of the aggravated corona situation in Germany, the federal government has a plan to reintroduce the obligation to work from home for employees.

A draft of the Federal Ministry of Labor for an amended Infection Protection Act provides for this. In the draft text from Friday evening, which is available to the German Press Agency, it says: “In the case of office work or comparable activities, the employer must offer employees to carry out these activities in their home, if there are no compelling operational reasons. The employees have to accept this offer, provided there are no reasons to the contrary. "

"Bild am Sonntag" and the "Handelsblatt" had previously reported on the project.

Informed circles said on Sunday that there was still no final agreement between the parliamentary groups from the SPD, Greens and FDP, which are currently negotiating a new federal government.

The planned regulation on the obligation to work from home is part of the draft law for the 3G rules in the workplace.

According to this, only those vaccinated, recovered and tested (3G) should be allowed to work in the future.
