The 14 defendants including Huang Biyun of the Democratic Party, Shi Delai of the Chinese People's Association for Democracy and People’s Associations of China, He Qiming and Chen Zhiquan, were granted bail by the court earlier. However, the remaining 33 defendants are still in custody. The lawyer's application means that many defendants who have not served their sentences in other cases will be "prisoned before trial" for nearly a year.
The Department of Justice has prosecuted 47 people on February 28 this year, and the trial has not yet officially started. The 33 defendants have been remanded in custody, and they have been questioned by the outside world as being "sentenced without trial."
Regarding the Attorney General’s plan to postpone the interrogation, the defendant’s family denounced: "All procedures are fundamentally chaotic," and added: "It is only more certain that the incident is a "political persecution", and all local and democratic voices should be suppressed. It's not what the government says to act in accordance with the law."
A total of 14 people have been released on bail in the primary election, including Zheng Dahong, Peng Zhuoqi, He Qiming, Huang Biyun, Shi Delai, Ke Yaolin, Li Yuxin, Yang Xueying, Liu Weicong, Lu Zhiheng, Lin Jingnan, Zou Jiacheng, Yu Huiming and Chen Zhiquan.
Dai Yaoting, Ou Nuoxuan, Huang Zhifeng, Hu Zhiwei, Liang Guoxiong and others who are being remanded are serving sentences in other cases.
