Sad: Three snow leopards die from corona at Nebraska Zoo | Israel today

Tragedy at the Children's Zoo in Lincoln, Nebraska: Three snow leopards, an endangered animal, have died as a result of corona virus complications.

A special statement from the zoo said: "Our tigers Rani, Everest and McAllie, who were loved by everyone at the zoo staff themselves and among the general public outside, died as a result of Corona. This loss really breaks our hearts and we all mourn together."

The first update on the big cat infection with the corona virus came on October 13, when the zoo staff diagnosed that some of its tigers and tigers were showing disease symptoms that are typical of the virus.

Following the identification, an animal test was performed and it was found that they were indeed infected with corona, and as a result they were treated with steroids and antibiotics to prevent secondary infections as a result of the disease.

Thankfully, two Sumatran tigers who also contracted the disease then recovered from the virus thanks to treatment.

In any case, the gene team announced upon identification of the virus that there was no danger of the public becoming infected with the animals.

"Given the significant distance that exists between the animals and the visitors to the garden, the public was not infected and was not at risk of being infected.

"Our zoo continues to operate, and we take every precaution to prevent the spread of the virus to humans and animals. Diseases and their prevention, a U.S. Department of Health agency "to ensure the safety of our animals, staff and community."
