The activities of the “Community Support Matrix” campaign were launched today in Tartous, which includes the implementation of specialized service weeks with the participation of government agencies and volunteers from the civil society in various sectors.

The activities of the first day of the campaign included sending 8 cars loaded with medicines in front of the Tartous Health Directorate to various regions of the governorate.

Tartous Governor, Lawyer Safwan Abu Saada, from the Basurum Health Center of the Al-Naqeeb municipality, spoke during the launch of the campaign about the multiple weeks of community service that will be held with the participation of the local community, with the aim of delivering various services to those who deserve it.

Dr. Ahmed Ammar, Director of Tartous Health, explained in a press statement from the same center that the campaign was launched in cooperation with the branches of the unions of human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and teachers in the governorate and social activities with the aim of providing health care and medicines free of charge to those who deserve it, pointing out that the work continues for a week on a daily basis in the regions of Tartous and Safita Drakeish, Baniyas, Sheikh Badr, Qadmous and Sahel Akkar to deliver health support and medicines to the largest possible number of citizens.

In turn, Dr. Youssef Mustafa, head of the branch of the Medical Syndicate in Tartous, drew attention to the importance of the campaign, which targets people with low incomes by providing them with the necessary medicines while providing medical care through a medical cadre of various specialties.

Dr. Alaa Al-Magharbel, head of the Tartous Health District, confirmed that this voluntary campaign aims to deliver community medical service to the largest possible segment of society.

A number of people stressed the importance of this campaign, hoping to establish it permanently, with the possibility of including other medical services such as surgeries.
