Today, As-Suwayda Governorate launched the “Month of Goodness” activities, with the participation of many service and economic institutions, administrative units, the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, NGOs and the local community.

The activities of the first day included the distribution of winter coats to more than 400 students in the two schools of the martyrs Hassan and Nayef Muhanna in the town of Baka by the Mersa Development and Charitable Foundation, in addition to providing medical examinations, blood sugar, echocardiography and free examinations for the people of the town by the Charitable Medical Care Association, as well as providing a physical therapy service by Al-Wafa Charity Association.

The As-Suwayda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with merchants and economic actors, drove three mobile cars containing foodstuffs and detergents to the Al-Harbi neighborhood in the village of Walga and to the village of Anz to sell them at cost, in addition to the Chamber’s processing of a number of sales centers “foodstuffs and clothes” at reduced prices in the cities of As-Suwayda and Shahba.

The branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation in As-Suwayda also drove a mobile car to the Al-Harbi neighborhood, the village of Walgha, and the Al-Tha’ala factories area to sell sugar, rice, oil and tea via the electronic card.

The Directorate of Health, in cooperation with the Doctors Syndicate and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch, provided mobile clinics through which medical examinations, medicines and educational guidance were provided in the village of Walgha.

In the village of Anz, the Mersa Development and Charitable Foundation, in coordination with the Directorate of Education, opened a free educational reinforcement course for students of the basic education certificate for Arabic, English and mathematics subjects, in addition to providing material assistance to families in need.

The Union of Craftsmen opened a market in the lobby of the Suwayda City Council, which included many food products, such as Arabic bread, molasses and sweets, at cost, according to the stakeholders in the market.

Member of the Executive Office of As-Suwayda Governorate responsible for the events, Wael Al-Mahithawi, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the events come to promote charitable and participatory work between various governmental and civil sectors, to devote a culture of volunteer work and to provide various health, educational and charitable services in various regions of the governorate, indicating that the activities of the events are held under the supervision of the Ministry of Administration. Locality and the environment and a follow-up to the work mechanism resulting from the Goodwill meeting held under the chairmanship of First Lady Asma al-Assad during the last period.

In a statement to SANA, the head of the Suwayda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nabih Bakri, pointed out the importance of merchants participating in the activities of the month of goodness to reduce the economic burden as much as possible on citizens in these difficult circumstances, indicating that the names of joint shops and centers for selling materials at cost were announced through the chamber's page on social media. .

The Director of As-Suwayda Health, Dr. Tariq Al-Jammal, indicated that the directorate is participating with volunteer doctors and nurses to support the activities of the month of goodness, within mobile clinics that include many areas of the governorate.

President of the Medical Care Charitable Association in Sweida, Dr. Jamal Masoud pointed out that their participation in the activities of the month of goodness comes to confirm cooperation by charities and to enhance the concept of belonging to the homeland in word and deed, pointing out that they focus on providing specialized services with the participation of doctors and providing quality devices, including a “modern portable Echo device.”

The activities of the “month of goodness” include specialized service weeks to provide medical and dental examinations, distribution of free medicines, in addition to free educational courses, markets for selling clothes and foodstuffs at reduced prices, and activities to distribute the needs of the winter season of winter clothes, heaters and foodstuffs, as well as organizing civil and popular hygiene campaigns, planting trees and distributing gifts on the occasion. Christmas and New Year's Eve are coming.
