Two Spanish mountaineers were rescued in France in the Mont-Blanc Massif (Haute-Savoie), one of them having broken both legs in a fall on the north face, we learned Sunday from of the prefecture of the French department concerned.
The two Spaniards, soldiers on leave, were climbing the north face of the Straight when one of them unscrewed, making a fall which broke both his legs, the same source said.

The two climbers, thus stuck between 3000 and 3500 meters, were rescued on Saturday evening by nine members of the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM).
They had to stay in place with the Spaniards, due to the unfavorable weather conditions for a helicopter transfer.
At around 1 a.m. on Sunday, the helicopter was finally able to transport the injured with a doctor, and then, later in the morning, the rest of the crew.
The injured, hospitalized in emergency, in particular has a fracture of the femur but his vital prognosis is not engaged, indicated the prefecture.
