"I have nothing to do with the disappearance of my wife": what Cédric Jubillar told the judges

2021-11-15T14:45:34.726Z

The main suspect in the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar was heard 4 hours by the judges in mid-October. He always proclaims loud and clear his innocence.

Almost a year after Delphine Jubillar's disappearance, her husband was questioned for the first time by the investigating judges for more than four hours in mid-October.

During this hearing, most of which was revealed by our colleagues from Le

Parisien

and confirmed in

Le Figaro

by his lawyer, the main suspect linked to the disappearance of the mother of the family admitted to having had "

unpleasant

", "

nasty

"

remarks

, with regard to his wife, but he always claims his innocence, assuring that he has “

nothing to do with [his] disappearance.

"

"He has not read Françoise Dolto

"

Since his indictment for "

murder on a spouse

", the painter had not yet been heard by the magistrates in charge of the case. During this interrogation, he was questioned at length about his relationship with his wife and children. Cédric Jubillar admitted having had derogatory remarks towards her, justified by a character trait:

“I do not have a

strong

language like some people (sic) or like you very high up and who have polite terms. I have more disagreeable and meaner terms.

"He also assumes to have made threatening statements, for example by sending this disturbing message to his mother:"

I am going to kill her, I am going to bury her, no one will find her.

".

But he blames his words for his exasperation at the time:

“I was angry, I was letting off steam.

Like I told you, I'm the con.

Through his responses, the man is portrayed as an angry father towards Louis, their 7-year-old son, who is kicked in the buttocks or slapped in public. According to his lawyer Me Emmanuelle Franck, his client is by no means a violent father: “he's

a loudmouth. Obviously, he has not read Françoise Dolto. For him, paternal authority consists in instituting fear. But this is not abuse, the school has never reported a hematoma and social assistance has never been seized.

"

Faced with this irritable father, Delphine Jubillar is not described as an ideal mother either. She seemed to be neglecting her children since the beginning of her relationship with her lover, during the summer of 2020. “

I was the only one to take care of Louis' education, because Delphine did nothing, she only did leave it in front of the TV,

”he argues. Several testimonies evoke a certain carelessness in the months preceding his disappearance. Elyah, 2, had been presented dirty to the nanny, while a source described to investigators a poorly maintained interior, with "

overflowing dishes.

""

This corresponds to a reality of family life in recent months. Obviously, it was elsewhere,

”observes Me Franck.

An "

ordeal

"

Very confident, Cédric Jubillar certifies that the presence of this other man in his wife's life did not bother him

: “the existence of a lover, I don't care a bit. I am the one and only man in her life and I am the first, so I tell myself that if she can look elsewhere and come back to me when she sees that it sucks, so much the better.

An assertion that should be qualified with the facts revealed by the investigation, namely that he was spying on his wife's expenses on his credit card.

"After 15 years of living together, he said to himself that he had the right not to be taken for an idiot

," explains his lawyer.

He wanted to be able to use this information in the event of a divorce dispute over child custody.

The night of December 15 to 16, 2020, when everything changed, was not discussed during this first interrogation.

It will be the subject of a new meeting with the investigating judges on December 3, which does not prevent the respondent from presenting himself as

"a victim

": "

I am an innocent person put in prison ( ...) In the end I am a victim who lives in the prison.

Beyond this divisive personality, the interrogation sheds light on a man exhausted by solitary confinement: “

It's horrible. I am in solitary confinement, I don't even know why. I was told that it was because the affair was publicized, it was really an ordeal,

”he breathes. Since June 18, the man has been locked up at the Seysses remand center 23 hours a day in a cell, as is the case for terrorist detainees. "

At night, we wake him up every half hour with a light,

" protests his lawyer. The telephone and visiting rooms are prohibited. “

It's November and he's only wearing a long sleeve t-shirt. My colleague is going to drop him some sweaters tomorrow.

"

The latter will file on Tuesday, alongside Me Jean-Baptiste Alary and Me Alexandre Martin, a new request for release before the investigating chamber of the Toulouse Court of Appeal.

The defense of Cédric Jubillar intends to denounce an investigation, where the track of the lover has never been taken seriously by the investigators.

The trio of penalists also points to a slow-motion procedure, where “

we play the clock with very distant interrogations.

The conclusions of the analysis of the quilt, seized on December 17, 2020 at the family home, were never communicated to the parties.
