Brawl in front of Soroka Hospital, two injured (police spokeswoman)

Employees of Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva recreate in a conversation with Walla!

The moments of fear are compounded by the huge brawl that broke out last night (Sunday) outside their workplace.

"It was like a war, crossing a red line. It could not happen in a hospital."

One of the brothers who worked at the time of the incident said: "We were in the emergency room and treated, we heard the shots and asked not to go out. Suddenly everything became stressful and scary. Jews and Arabs get treatment here, no one is scared. We get scary here."

Another employee at the hospital added: "We are working shoulder to shoulder with Jews and Arabs. This is the first time I have seen such a thing."

"People were hysterical. For us, the hospital is a bubble of sanity," the employee said.

Another worker described: "Everyone ran away and was scared, like in a horror movie."

According to Soroka Hospital's deputy director, Dr. Dan Schwarzkopf, this is "a mirror image of everything that is happening outside, in Israeli society. Anyone who thinks it will be stopped at the fence is probably wrong." He mentions the recent incidents of violence in the south, including the murder of an 18-year-old in Be'er Sheva and the man who was killed following a grenade that exploded. Despite this, he thinks the people who were in the hospital felt safe: "The staff were scared but we immediately recovered," he described. "People realized something was going on outside but got the sedative siren pretty quickly. Of course these things affect people, but I think they came out feeling protected."

Shimon Tovel, deputy mayor of Be'er Sheva, said: "What is happening here is madness. Not only have we lost Be'er Sheva, we have lost the entire country. Shots in a hospital are a red line that cannot be crossed on the agenda." Pini Badash, head of the Omar Council, added that "shooting hospitals is the peak of lack of governance in the Negev. We must recover and quickly."

This is another incident of violence in Arab society and in the Negev in particular, in which many residents live in a sense of helplessness in light of the lack of governance.

The Negev Rescue Committee stated that "another border has been crossed within the framework of criminal terrorism. The residents of the city of Be'er Sheva are hostage to terrorism that washes Ben-Gurion's vision. Shooting inside a humanitarian facility is crossing a red line."

The mass brawl broke out last night between the Talalka and Alexasi families at Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva and lasted for about an hour.

Young people were immediately seen throwing stones and hitting each other and even heard gunshots, near a city enforcement vehicle.

Four were injured and needed medical treatment, two were injured by stab wounds and two were injured.

Police arrested 19 suspects and opened an investigation into the incident.
