Minsk is thus working "

" to bring migrants stuck at the border back to their countries, the Belarusian president said on Monday, while noting that they were "
stubborn
" and did not wish to leave.

We are ready, as we always have done, to put them all on planes (...) which will bring them home,

Thousands of migrants, most of them from the Middle East, have been camping for several days on the border between Poland and Belarus, in freezing temperatures.
The EU accuses Minsk of having organized these migratory movements, by issuing visas and chartering flights, in revenge for Western sanctions imposed on the regime of Alexander Lukashenko last year after the brutal repression of opponents.
