Munich - The Bavarian 7-day incidence set a new record on Monday.

According to the RKI, it is 525.7.

Nationwide, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Monday morning was 303 - a high since the beginning of the pandemic.

More than a third of the new corona infections registered nationwide have been reported in Bavaria.

A sad result.

Prime Minister Markus Söder reacted to the increasing numbers with stricter regulations, which will come into force on Tuesday.

New corona rules in Bavaria: 2G nationwide from Tuesday

The 2G regulation will be expanded in the Free State from Tuesday. From then on, it will no longer only apply to cultural, sports and leisure activities, but also to gastronomy and all accommodations. In addition, Söder had announced a mask requirement wherever the 2G rule applies immediately. This means that in future it will no longer be possible to completely do without masks in areas where unvaccinated people have no access. This also means a decisive change for clubs and discos. In a statement on Sunday (November 14), Söder said he fears that the corona pandemic situation in Germany will "slip away".

"Ducking away doesn't help, the federal and state governments must act together decisively, we need to close ranks," he appealed to the traffic light government.

He called for stricter regulations at the federal level, as reported by the BR.

"There is a risk of collapse, there is a risk of triage," warned Söder urgently.

The corona crisis caused tax revenues to collapse, the majority of the CSU and free voters in the state government approved up to 20 billion euros in new debts to the state government.

However, the state government has not exhausted this framework.
