The General Organization for Al-Baqer began planting 18,000 dunums of fodder and hard wheat and barley crops in the Al-Ghab and Maskan area in Hama, in order to secure self-resources and the needs of the cow herds of fodder.

The Director General of the Foundation, Eng. Khaled Hilal, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the current stage requires reliance on available self-resources, and in line with the Foundation’s agricultural plan, large areas of durum wheat and barley have been planted in the Maskana project on an area of ​​12,000 dunams, and an area of ​​3,000 dunums has been allocated. Including for cultivation with irrigated wheat.

Hilal pointed out that the Al-Ghab project is one of the most important agricultural projects that will provide green fodder for cow herds in the foundation’s stations, where an area of ​​3,000 dunums has been prepared and settled by cultivation with fertilizer spraying operations to be planted with fodder wheat, which will secure the needs of the cow herd of green fodder, in addition to preparing an area of ​​3,000 dunams in the Al-Ghab project to be planted with durum wheat and barley, which will provide fodder material and good revenues for the institution.

Hilal indicated that the Corporation owns a stockpile of fodder wheat seed that has been sifted and sterilized, as it has extracted quantities of durum wheat seed from agricultural banks, in addition to owning all the mechanisms, labor and irrigation techniques to manage these agricultural projects.
