The Heilbrunn specialist clinic has had its first generalist trainees since autumn.
The young adults gain insights into many medical areas.
Bad Heilbrunn
- At the beginning of 2020, training in the nursing professions was reorganized by the federal government. The separation of care for the elderly, adults or children was no longer necessary. Instead, there is now generalist training to become a nurse. The Bad Heilbrunn Specialist Clinic, which is part of the m & i Clinic Group Enzensberg and has around 400 employees, has been a training company for decades - so far with a focus on care for the elderly.
“We have had our first generalist apprentices since autumn,” says training coordinator Astrid Habeck-Schindler in a press conference. Two nursing students started at the clinic a few weeks ago. “That will increase from year to year. We should manage four per year. ”The specialist clinic is responsible for practical training for the female pupils. 2500 hours are earmarked for this over the three years. "With us you can experience a very broad spectrum," says chief physician Dr. Peter Bader. The offer ranges from neurological care wards with intensive care units to orthopedics and pain wards through to the diabetes department. Post-transplant care is also one of the clinic's priorities. “The nursing students can really have a lot of experience here,” says Bader. This mixture of rehabilitation and acute areas - “that's what sets us apart,” says nursing director Stefanie Ziemer-Schwarz. In addition, they are still trying to offer a family atmosphere, adds commercial director Günter R. Henseler.
The nursing students are looked after on the wards by trained practical instructors.
"Ten percent of the training time is purely instructional time," explains Habeck-Schindler.
The operational plans are designed in such a way that all stations are run through in order to get to know the entire spectrum of the clinic.
There are also field assignments in psychiatry, paediatrics, outpatient care and in nursing homes.
In addition, there are 2100 hours of theory that can be completed in the nursing schools in Bad Tölz, Penzberg or Miesbach.
