Maths, French: uneven progress of students in CP and CE1

The results of national assessments show that the impact of containment on their performance has been erased.


In French and in mathematics, CP and CE1 students found results equivalent - or even better in certain skills - to those of the start of the 2019 school year, after a year 2020 marked by the negative impact of confinement on their performance. Likewise, the widened gaps, under the effect of the health crisis, between disadvantaged students (priority education) and others, have narrowed, returning to the level of 2019.

Compared to 2018, we welcome the Ministry of Education, which published Monday the result of its national assessments, conducted in CP, CE1 and sixth. But beyond the impact of the Covid, are the results of little French people progressing in absolute terms?
