At a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett today (Monday), US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas Greenfeld told her that "Israel is dealing with Iran-backed terrorist organizations located along our borders."
In joint statements made by the two, the Prime Minister said: "I hope that during your visit you will get a better picture of the unique challenges we face here. I know that the US, and you personally, have always supported us over the years, stood by Israel and made a voice of truth. ".
In some of the things he said, Bennett criticized the institution where she serves as ambassador: "There is a significant difference between the reality in Israel and what is heard about us in the UN corridors.
"Madam Ambassador, you have devoted most of your life to diplomatic service and the pursuit of justice and tolerance, and made it clear that you intend to continue to strive for this at the United Nations."

Thomas-Greenfeld also held a similar meeting with Transportation Minister Merav Michaeli, in which the two discussed issues of transportation and infrastructure, promoting gender equality and addressing violence against women and common strategic challenges.
Minister Michaeli said during the meeting that she was "pleased to hear from her of a reaffirmation of the US commitment to the special relationship with Israel, and to return the same commitment from Israel and the current government - the US is our most important ally, and these ties are critical to maintaining its security."
She added: "I was pleased to hear from the ambassador that President Biden also sees transport as an issue of national security importance, and above all I found an ally in the determination to integrate women and the voice of women in security issues and in the struggle for women's security."
