Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, announced that his country does not see the need to submit the issue of the migration crisis on the Belarusian-Polish border to the United Nations forums, noting that there is nothing on the agenda of the Security Council in this regard at the present time.
“We believe that there is no need to submit the issue of the migration crisis at the Belarusian-Polish border to some United Nations forums such as the Security Council or the General Assembly,” Polyansky said in a statement to “Russia 24” channel, noting that the issue relates to problems within the European Union more than it is related to with international relations.
Polyansky called for the need to open a direct dialogue between Minsk and Brussels and between Minsk, Warsaw and Vilnius, pointing out that there are forces on the Polish side of the border and migrants are not allowed to cross, and this in general contradicts the standards of the European Union and has nothing to do with the United Nations at all.
