The NRW school ministry is looking Europe-wide for a supplier for millions of corona rapid tests in order to be able to continue them until the Easter holidays.
Applicants have until the end of November to register.
According to the tender, deliveries should be made by January 17th at the latest.
Düsseldorf - Last week the ministry asked the secondary schools to bunker tests for the first few weeks after the Christmas holidays - so that there would be no bottlenecks.
The late tender - the current supply contract expires at the end of the year - had caused criticism from the opposition and the teachers' union.
The ministry has reduced the tender period to 15 days as part of an “accelerated open procedure”.
Providers have to supply 7,000 schools with around 3.3 million antigen self-tests.
"The quantity required can vary greatly, taking into account the test frequency and other circumstances of the pandemic development," says the tender.
