History is not about knowing how long Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, and Kangxi lived, how many concubines and concubines they fought, and what battles they fought. It is about knowing how to learn from history and why we must refer to the experience and lessons of history when discussing the trend of the times.

We can look at "one country, two systems" from the concept of "body use", "one country" means "body", "two systems" means "use", body-based, and use as an example, because the historical experience of the two places is great Although the difference does not completely separate the two groups, it creates difficulties for the smooth operation of the "body". If we use a historical perspective to understand "one country, two systems", it is estimated that such a divergent interpretation will not happen.
The other end of history is the present. The role of historical understanding must be for the present, but some people think that they only need to live in the present, and they are unwilling to accept that the present can only be understood through history.
If you don’t grasp what happened in the past, you don’t know why it is happening now; if you don’t know what happened today, you will inevitably not be able to grasp the future, and you will even lose your way.
It’s as if we have always thought that Hong Kong’s elite groups will definitely lead Hong Kong. Hong Kong’s civil servants can govern Hong Kong well, only to find that they are actually "sleeping". The ideology of small government and big market understands the world, and even flaunts American-style freedom and democracy to understand the problems of the world.
The sixth middle school will pave the way for the next hundred years
The leaders in Hong Kong obviously lack the sense of urgency and motivation to "awaken". Is this our misunderstanding in the past, or are there other reasons that make the excellent elite governance team helpless with social issues?
To know the reason, you can only go back to the colonial history and the growth of civil servants. Any rough judgment may be misunderstood.
In the past 100 years, the CCP has never given up its mission of party building.
Even if there were serious mistakes in the process, it was still persevering.
Xi Jinping often quoted Zheng Banqiao’s poem: “Assume that the green mountains do not relax, and the roots are in the broken rock. The hard work is still strong, and the north and the west are winds.” He is emphasizing that the CCP must adhere to its beliefs and solve the people’s problems. One cannot be less difficult.
The CCP is a political organization that adheres to its beliefs. Its roots are the mastery of history. It is not much different from the stories that European and American countries often tell how they got out of feudalism and entered democracy, but the degree and level are different.
Many people in Hong Kong don't understand why political parties need to stick to their beliefs. Don't they think that political parties are political organizations used to consolidate power?
Is the CCP just pretending to be a high-profile?
This kind of speculation does have a basis, because Western political parties have been operating in this way so far, and party rotation is likely to happen with only a short period of political performance.
In fact, political parties are not the main body of American politics. Many people know the names of the presidents of the United States, but few people know which party they belong to.
In contrast, the CCP attaches great importance to its own history and values. Although the status and contributions of individual leaders can be different, they cannot explain the CCP’s overall historical status and political achievements as a political party.
Some people criticize the CCP for putting the tragic history that China has suffered since the Opium War on its lips, and it is using a kind of tragedy to consolidate its power.
This misunderstanding ignores that the Chinese are essentially a nation with a lot of memory.
Memories are not used to continue the mentality of revenge, but to remind everyone not to fall into decline again, and to make everyone work hard to build a collective consciousness.
This is the sense of history.
The CCP is a political organization that adheres to its beliefs. Its roots are the mastery of history. It is not much different from the stories that European and American countries often tell how they got out of feudalism and entered democracy, but the degree and level are different.
In Paris, everyone saw the art of the French Revolution everywhere. The United States often emphasized its own constitution. The British viewed their Magna Carta as the great historical process of mankind, and they all have similar meanings.
It's just that European and American scholars no longer regard the history of the Roman Empire or Greece as their own history, but the Chinese will trace their memories back to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, or even the Three Emperors and Five Emperors.
The "Historical Resolution" of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee continues the historical reflection and hard thinking of the Chinese nation. It can be predicted that this "Historical Resolution" is to unify the understanding of society in the past 100 years of history. Slogans and forms are of no value. Short-term successes and failures cannot show the whole world, let alone show the future. Historical experience is the best evidence.
Of course, some people may say that China still has not responded to the common people's yearning for the Western development model and their worries about China's authoritarian and centralized model.
However, if there were no such worries, everyone would not have noticed the disputes between China and the West.
China’s development is still on the way. The CCP has not resolved all the doubts about the world or civilization, and of course it cannot resolve everyone’s worries. This is a basic fact.
However, have Western democracies provided clear and effective solutions?

To be sure, the various chaos that has occurred in European and American countries in recent years is not only far from what we understood when we were young, it is simply a reversal of right and wrong.
China’s achievements in the past few decades have highlighted the shortcomings of the West’s laissez-faire capitalist governance model. It is said that there will be no harm if there is no comparison. This is also the main background for the conflicts between European and American countries and China today. While developing itself, it unconsciously challenged the Western development model.
Wal-Mart used to be the best-performing retail company in the world, but Amazon's success has challenged it invisibly. Can we say that this is Amazon's fault?
Today's Wal-Mart is catching up with e-commerce, this is the correct attitude.
To slander one's own problems as caused by others is itself another failure of a loser. If European and American countries put themselves in such a position, China has no other choice but to be more careful in its development.
The CCP’s sense of history is actually something that many Western countries should learn from, and Hong Kong is no exception.
When Western countries learn from development experience and lessons, they never carry out systematic reflections, let alone review their own development models openly, thinking that temporary success is permanent success. This is superficial and impossible.
Climate warming is a good example. Can we say that the development of industrial civilization has made no mistakes?
And it was an error that lasted for hundreds of years.
Once you know it, you should actively correct it, but many people in the United States still deny such a serious ecological crisis, which is unbelievable.
This shows that human beings are ultimately still insignificant in the face of nature and history.
Hong Kong has been regarded as a member of the Western world for many years, and it should actively reflect on its past mistakes and face it bravely, just as the CCP is constantly reflecting on its past mistakes, including the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, and making self-criticism.
Only in this way can the people’s difficulties be truly resolved, society can progress, and the country can develop.
The general direction of Hong Kong's transformation from chaos to governance, from governance to prosperity is in front of us. The second half of "one country, two systems" has already begun, and an "age of awakening" is especially needed.
The "Awakening Age" Hong Kong Needs
