Rudi Sigl from the Tutzinger Gilde was completely satisfied on Sunday.

Together with around 20 club members, the second Gildemeister sold fir and spruce trees near the club's own Daxen plantation on Saturday.

The proceeds go to the association's cash register.

"In times of Corona this is our only source of income," says Sigl.

Tutzing

- Around eight firs and a few spruces were felled for sale on the plantation that had existed for around 40 years. “That must have been around seven cubic meters,” Sigl estimates in an interview with Starnberger Merkur. "We realized some time ago that there was hardly any market for the Daxen." So the guild decided to try that five years ago. The concept of relying on sustainability and ecology in the cultivation of Christmas trees for years has proven itself. This also applies to Daxen sales. “Word gets around and there are still not that many providers. People come from far away, we are happy about that. "

Most customers would use the green for Advent arrangements and wreaths, Sigl knows.

Some mainly place spruce branches on their beds for protection.

"Among our customers, however, there are also rose growers who use fir branches because they don't needles."

For the first time Marianne Niggl from Pöcking was present at the Tutzinger Daxenverkauf.

“We used to take branches with us from nurseries every now and then.

Then I read about the Daxen sale in the newspaper and thought I'd give it a try. ”The Pöckinger woman was very satisfied with her yield.

She took fir branches with her for an Advent container on the doorstep, and spruce branches for the garden.

“I think it's good that the branches are untreated,” she says.

Next year she'll be going back to the guild.

Now the Tutzing guild is preparing to sell Christmas trees.

This is to take place on Saturday, December 4th, on the Lindlwiese.

It starts at 8 a.m.

It is sold until there is no tree left.

Here, too, the guild is committed to sustainability: "The nets on our trees are made of cellulose," says Sigl with satisfaction.

The material is compostable.
