National team coach Willy Rotensteiner will submit a summary report of the World Cup qualifying campaign within a month, detailing his professional analysis and the reasons why Israel finished in third place at home, after Denmark and Scotland.
Rotensteiner has a contract until May, but senior members of the association made it clear last night that they would like to cut the Austrian's future, even before the end of his contract.
"There's no point in this uncertainty, it's not good for anyone. We'll know if Willie continues long before May," a union official said last night.
One possibility that has arisen is to return Rotensteiner to the position of professional manager in the team and appoint a coach under him, but such a step will cost the association quite a bit of money.
The only Israeli candidate is Barak Bachar, and if he does not accept the position, the association will look for a foreign candidate.
In any case, Rotensteiner's chances of continuing on the lines, despite the relatively good result and finishing in third place, are not high.
Beyond that, the team is expected to change generations, as some players may retire from the national uniform.
Captain Beavers Natcho will make a decision on his future soon, having previously hinted that this is his latest campaign.
The brakeman Eitan Tibi is also undecided about his future in the team.
Beyond these, striker Monas Dabour is considering his future in the national uniform, and not because of age.
Last night Dabour scored the first goal against the Faroe Islands, but again encountered boos.
This time Dabour responded with a silence motion and seems to be far from happy every time he joins the team.
Striker Eran Zehavi is expected to continue for another campaign at the age of 34 and also in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, he is expected to be the main executor in the team.
