Schongau - To “maintain the Schongau hospital in care level I”, an action alliance was founded at the beginning of November.

In a resolution, it demands that those responsible, among other things, publish the full report on the Krankenhaus GmbH and postpone the district council resolution to March 2022.

Last Monday, the “Action Alliance Pro Hospital Schongau” sent its demands to District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß.

The alliance, which is cross-party and to which people from neighboring communities also belong, is primarily about answers, as the speakers Regina Haugg and Stefan Konrad emphasize.

For example, they want to have the complete report on the hospital GmbH published for the district councils and the citizens.

Since it is not an easy decision, the vote on the future of the Schongau hospital will not be dealt with in the upcoming district council meeting on November 26th, but will be postponed until at least March 2022.

In addition, the alliance calls on the mayor of Schongau, Falk Sluyterman, to convene an extraordinary citizens' meeting on the subject.

The participation of the district administrator and the managing director of the GmbH Thomas Lippmann are seen as necessary.

Future concept of the supervisory board: »bundling of inpatient care«

As things stand, the district council will decide on the future of the Schongau and Weilheim hospitals on November 26th.

The chairman and district administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß did not want to give details of what the supervisory board will propose to the committee on the basis of the latest deliberations at the Schongau citizens' meeting.

Even then, she chose the terms “medical location” and “hospital location” with caution.

In an open letter to the citizens of the district, she roughly outlined a “multi-stage plan” that the district council will decide on.

That is why it is about the "further development of the Weilheim and Schongau locations as modern healthcare providers".

But also: the “bundling of inpatient health care at a central location”.
