At the same time, experts from the Friedrich Loeffler Institute (FLI) in the region near Güstrow are investigating how the outbreak could occur, as the managing director of the North / East hybrid pig breeding association, Robert Langas, told the German press agency on Tuesday.
After the ASF cases in Brandenburg and Saxony, one had to reckon with an outbreak of the animal disease in wild boars, explained Langas.
He was surprised, however, that the epidemic first appeared in farm animals in the middle of the state.
