Manchester City player Benjamin Mandy was charged today (Tuesday) with two more counts of rape, and is now charged with six counts of rape, after being charged with four in early August.
The 27-year-old Frenchman has been suspended from Manchester City and has been in custody since August after several requests for his release on bail were rejected by the judges.
Mandy is also charged with a single count of sexual assault.
All alleged offenses relate to four women over the age of 16 and are alleged to have occurred between October 2020 and August 2021.
The left-back has been playing for Manchester City since 2017, when he joined from Monaco for £ 52million. He was suspended by the club after being charged by police in August.
Mandy was first charged on August 26, with three counts of rape related to an alleged incident in October 2020 and sexual assault of a woman in early January this year.
He was also charged with raping a woman in August this year.
The alleged injuries occurred at his home in Cheshire.
Mandy is charged alongside his friend Louis Saha Maturi, 40, who has been charged with two counts of rape and one of sexual assault, and is also facing six rape charges.
The two men are due to stand trial on January 24, 2022.
