U.S. President Joe Biden tonight (Monday through Tuesday) held a virtual conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, in which the two discussed a number of issues ranging from human rights to the tensions in the military that are being built in the Pacific, Reuters reported.
During the meeting, Biden told his Chinese counterpart that he hoped "next time we will meet face to face" and stressed that US and Chinese leaders must ensure that relations between the two countries do not develop into an "open confrontation".
At the same time, during what Baiden said, he further noted that the United States has a commitment to the world and its citizens, adding that the United States will always act and uphold its values.
Biden also noted that countries around the world must "play by the rules" and that both countries must maintain open and honest communication.

At the same time, President Shay told Biden that he was very happy to meet his "old friend."
Shai noted that the two countries face common challenges and that they need to step up communication and cooperation.
The Chinese president further noted that cooperation between the powers is needed for the fight against international issues including global warming and the fight against the spread of the corona virus.
In his remarks to President Biden Shai, he noted that stable and quiet relations between the two countries are needed and that each should respect the other, stressing that China is ready to act to move relations in a "positive direction" and expects in-depth and helpful discussions on many issues.
He further stated that the states need to cooperate, deal with domestic issues themselves, while taking international responsibility.
