Sabine Buder failed in her attempt to be the only woman to run for chairmanship of the CDU.
The district board of the CDU Märkisch-Oderland spoke out after deliberations against a nomination of the 37-year-olds, according to SPIEGEL information Buder received seven votes against and four votes in favor with two abstentions.
The deadline for candidates ends on Wednesday.
Buder had previously said that her candidacy “should also send out a signal to young women to be courageous and take responsibility”.
In the federal election in September, the veterinarian and mother of four barely missed the direct mandate in the Märkisch-Oderland-Barnim 2 constituency, but achieved the best first-vote result in Brandenburg with 23.4 percent.
With her unconventional election campaign, mostly without the support of state politicians, Buder had attracted attention during the election campaign.
After the election defeat, she criticized her party harshly for the election campaign and repeatedly demanded a fresh start in terms of personnel and content.
The CDU will elect its new chairman in January at a federal party conference.
Before that, the members should decide for the first time by primary election.
So far, the economic politician Friedrich Merz, the Bundestag member Norbert Röttgen and the previous Chancellery Minister Helge Braun have declared their candidacy to succeed Armin Laschet.
