Two initially confirmed cases of low virus levels listed in Fuyang by the Center for Health Protection

Two newly newly confirmed imported cases included a 29-year-old foreign domestic helper and a 29-year-old Indian domestic helper.

She took flight CX798 and arrived in Hong Kong from Indonesia on October 15. When she arrived in Hong Kong, she took a sample at the temporary sample collection center of Hong Kong International Airport and the test result was negative.

She tested negative for six times during the compulsory quarantine at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center.

The patient showed no symptoms. She returned to her employer’s residence in Block 4, Xin Cui Garden, Chai Wan after completing the compulsory quarantine on November 5. However, the test results of samples collected at the community testing center on November 15 were uncertain.

After she was admitted to the hospital, the test result was positive, but the virus load was low (Ct value greater than 30).

The other case involved a 65-year-old male patient.

He took flight SQ882 and arrived in Hong Kong from Singapore on October 28. When he arrived in Hong Kong, he took a sample at the temporary sample collection center of Hong Kong International Airport and the test result was negative.

Four tests during the mandatory quarantine period at the Regal Oriental Hotel were all negative.

The patient was asymptomatic and returned to his home in Block 3, Ease House, Aberdeen, after completing the compulsory quarantine on November 10.

He performed a mandatory test according to regulations on November 15 and the result was positive, with the L452R mutant virus strain, without the N501Y and E484K mutant genes, but the virus load was low (Ct value greater than 30).

The Center for Health Protection stated that after reviewing the case’s epidemiological data, clinical data and laboratory results, the center believed that both cases were consistent with the Fuyang case.

Another five buses and one minibus line were included in the inspection.
