A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health reported to the dpa that the corona patients in the intensive care units will probably exceed the critical value of 390 on Monday and Tuesday.
It is also unlikely that the number will fall again, since the often younger patients have to be treated there for significantly longer on the wards.
Exceeding the mark twice would trigger the so-called corona alarm level.
Then on Wednesday, stricter rules for fighting pandemics would come into force.
Corona alert threatens to take effect from Wednesday
In this case, the Corona regulation provides for the 2G rule (vaccinated or recovered) nationwide, for example in restaurants, museums, at exhibitions and at most other public events.
Those who are not vaccinated and can only show one test are left out in the cinema, swimming pool or fitness studio, in adult education courses and music schools.
Schoolchildren have to wear masks again in class.
There are exceptions, for example, for public transport and religious events.
In retail, too, the 3G alert does not require a PCR test.
Basic supply shops such as supermarkets, outdoor markets and pick-up and delivery offers are also excluded.
The stricter rules also do not apply to people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.
Children and young people up to the age of 17 are also not counted.
Too many corona patients in intensive care units in Baden-Württemberg
The tier system in Baden-Württemberg depends on the number of corona patients in intensive care units and the so-called hospitalization incidence, which indicates the number of people who come to a clinic with corona symptoms per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.
So far, the corona warning level applied, which already meant many restrictions for numerous unvaccinated people.
In order for the stricter Corona measures to expire, the threshold values must be fallen below on five working days in a row.
