Kempten / Sonthofen - the city and district are reintroducing the mandatory online reservations for corona vaccination appointments.

Kempten / Sonthofen - the city and district are reintroducing the mandatory online reservations for corona vaccination appointments.

In view of the dramatically increased number of corona cases, there is again a significantly increased willingness to vaccinate in Kempten and the Oberallgäu.

In order to ensure a structured process for the expected large number of vaccinations and to avoid waiting times for those willing to vaccinate, the Oberallgäu district and the city of Kempten have decided to re-introduce a mandatory online reservation for all corona vaccinations from Tuesday, November 16.

The obligation to reserve an appointment concerns the vaccination center in Sonthofen (former Grüntenkaserne, Salzweg 24), the vaccination center Kempten (former artillery barracks, Kaufbeurer Straße 80) and the vaccination point in Kempten (Bahnhofstraße 13).

Those wishing to be vaccinated who would like to be vaccinated against Corona (COVID-19) must book the appointment for their first, second or booster vaccination, also called “booster vaccination”, in advance at www.impfzentren.bayern.

Vaccinations without an appointment are no longer possible here, according to the press release.

This applies to the booster vaccination

Important to know: The booster vaccination should take place at the earliest six months after completion of the first series of vaccinations and after consultation with a doctor. It is available, for example, to people aged 70 and over, residents and those taking care of the elderly, nursing staff and staff in medical facilities with direct patient contact.

Alexander Schwägerl, district manager of the BRK Oberallgäu and responsible for the vaccination centers in Kempten, as well as Markus Adler, head of emergency services at the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe in the regional association Bavarian Swabia and responsible for the vaccination center Oberallgäu, emphasize: “The situation in the region is serious.

The hospital traffic light is RED.

We are happy that the willingness to vaccinate has now increased again.

With the new regulations, we can ensure that the vaccinations run quickly and smoothly. "
