The Centre for Health Protection is investigating two cases of entering the community with suspected Fuyang confirmed from other places.
The first case involved a 29-year-old Indian domestic helper. She returned to her employer’s residence in Block 4, New Jade Garden, Chai Wan after completing compulsory quarantine on November 5. The test results of samples collected at the community testing center on November 15 were negative It was confirmed that the test result after she was admitted to the hospital was positive, but the virus load was low (Ct value greater than 30).
Another case involved a 65-year-old male patient who returned to his home in Block 3, Aberdeen Residences after completing compulsory quarantine on November 10. He was tested for compulsory testing in accordance with regulations on November 15 and the result was positive. It also carries the L452R mutant virus strain but the virus quantity is low (Ct value is greater than 30).
The places where the two patients lived and visited in Hong Kong during the incubation period have been included in the mandatory test announcement. There are 27 places in total, including one of them who visited Disneyland this Sunday (14th). The park announced that it will be closed in the early morning of today (17th). She tested negative for six times during the compulsory quarantine at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center.
The patient showed no symptoms. She returned to her employer’s residence in Block 4, Xin Cui Garden, Chai Wan after completing the compulsory quarantine on November 5. However, the test results of samples collected at the community testing center on November 15 were uncertain.
After she was admitted to the hospital, the test result was positive, but the virus load was low (Ct value greater than 30).
According to the information provided by the patient, she received two doses of Koxing vaccine in Indonesia on July 14 and August 12, and she tested positive for the new crown virus in Indonesia before arriving in Hong Kong on October 13. The result of the review was negative, and the center is verifying the results with the Indonesian authorities.
The other case involved a 65-year-old male patient.
He took flight SQ882 and arrived in Hong Kong from Singapore on October 28. When he arrived in Hong Kong, he took a sample at the temporary sample collection center of Hong Kong International Airport and the test result was negative.
Four tests during the mandatory quarantine period at the Regal Oriental Hotel were all negative.
The patient was asymptomatic and returned to his home in Block 3, Ease House, Aberdeen, after completing the compulsory quarantine on November 10.
He performed a mandatory test according to regulations on November 15 and the result was positive, with the L452R mutant virus strain, without the N501Y and E484K mutant genes, but the virus load was low (Ct value greater than 30).
According to the information provided by the patient, he received two doses of Modena vaccine in Singapore on April 1 and April 29. He had tested positive for the new crown virus in Singapore before arriving in Hong Kong on October 14. The result of the review on October 26 was negative, and the center is now verifying the results with the Singaporean authorities.
The Center for Health Protection stated that after reviewing the case’s epidemiological data, clinical data and laboratory results, the center believed that both cases were consistent with the Fuyang case.
For the sake of prudence, the places where the two patients had lived and visited in Hong Kong during the incubation period have been included in the mandatory testing announcement. There are 27 places in total. The people tested include those who were in Hong Kong from 11 am to 6 pm on November 14. People from Disneyland, and those who have visited Dao Heung, Chai Wan Municipal Services Building, Chai Wan Market, Yue Wan Market, Immigration Department on the 8th floor of Immigration Tower, Aberdeen Chao Yuan Restaurant, etc. on the designated date.
