A dramatic video shows the moment when the crew of a Coast Guard helicopter rescued 10 people, including a baby, from the murky waters that have flooded part of Washington state after record rains in the Northwest of the country.
A clip shared Monday on the Pacific Northwest Coast Guard Twitter account shows crew members lifting people stranded on rooftops in knee-deep water.

The Coast Guard rescued six adults and four children from the floods near Forks, Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula, west of Seattle, with no injuries in the operation.
The Northwest of the country has been affected by an atmospheric river, plumes of tropical humidity that have caused record rains, according to the National Weather Service.
So far, at least four rivers in Washington state have reached unprecedented levels.
More than 56,000 customers were still without power as of early morning Tuesday, according to PowerOutage.us, which tracks power outages across the country.
Washington Gov. Jay Inslee issued a bad weather emergency proclamation Monday
to obtain resources for those affected by the storm.

The state has been battered by strong winds and a rain system that began on November 12, Inslee said in its statement.
This system has caused extensive flooding, landslides, and the flooding of several rivers.
More rain and snow are expected.
