After yesterday they signed the World Cup qualifying campaign with a minor victory over the Faroe Islands (2: 3), the players of the Israeli team and captain Eran Zehavi, tonight (Tuesday) concluded the tournament which they finished in third place after Denmark and Scotland but before Austria.
Zehavi wrote in his personal account: "Another campaign is over. Lots of beautiful moments, quite a few less beautiful moments, big games alongside disappointments, lots of goals in both directions and at the end one big result that sums up ten games - third place at home. It is not enough to advance to the World Cup in Qatar , But this team touches us all - exciting, annoying, giving hope and shattering them.

"Everyone and the emotion she burns in. In me she brings pride and privilege to be a part of her and I hope one day we can truly rejoice all of us together and say 'we did it!'. Thank you to everyone who took part in this campaign, love you."
Celtic player Nir Bitton added: "Another campaign is over and this time with a huge sense of failure, that we really could have taken the next step. We all have a common goal and such and other background noises have not hindered and will not prevent us from achieving that goal."
