The Moosburg fire brigade had to save a fawn on Monday morning: The young animal was wedged in a fence and could no longer free itself.
Moosburg
- The comrades of the Moosburg fire brigade do not have such a mission every day: On Monday at 8:45 a.m. they had to rescue a fawn from a predicament.
The young animal was wedged in a wrought iron fence on Feuerdornstrasse in Moosburg.
"The frightened animal apparently wanted to slip through a fence, but it got stuck and could no longer free itself", reports the Moosburg fire brigade.
The Florians disciples around Commander Gerhard Hochleitner carefully set to work to free the animal.
By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.
In order not to further injure the fawn, the rescuers covered it with a blanket.
"That calms the animal down too," said Moosburg's commandant.
Then it got down to business with heavy equipment, as the use of bolt cutters and saws was not possible due to the massive construction of the fence.
The fence posts were then widened with a hydraulic spreader and the fawn was freed within a short time.
The good news for everyone involved: "Apparently the animal was not injured," reports Hochleitner.
A little later, the Kitz was released into the field at Amperwehrstrasse - to the delight of the eleven Florians disciples involved.
After about an hour, the rescue operation, which was unusual even for experienced emergency services, was over.
