According to Palestinian sources, Israeli soldiers killed a member of the militant "Islamic Jihad" in the West Bank.
The bullet injured the 26-year-old's heart and lungs, among other things, said the Ministry of Health in Ramallah on Tuesday.
The Palestinian Organization subsequently confirmed that the deceased was one of its members.
According to Palestinian sources, clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers broke out again during the night in the northern Jordan Valley.
An Israeli army spokesman said the reports were being examined.
According to a statement, soldiers arrested two suspects in the northern Jordan Valley last night.
The soldiers were shot at.
An explosive device was also thrown from a passing vehicle.
The troops then shot at the vehicle, it was said.
