Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder has again called for the corona rules for unvaccinated people across Germany to be tightened.

Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder has again called for the corona rules for unvaccinated people across Germany to be tightened.

Munich - "I also think it's wrong that we only work with patchwork carpets," said the CSU boss on Tuesday in the ZDF "morning magazine".

"What is needed is 2G nationwide in Germany."

2G means access only for vaccinated and convalescent people.

On Thursday, the Executive Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) will advise the Prime Ministers of the federal states about how to proceed in the fight against Corona *.

With the corona rules, he would prefer a joint approach by the federal and state governments, emphasized Söder.

A booster vaccination is necessary from the fifth month, mandatory vaccination for certain professional groups, contact restrictions for unvaccinated people and more mask requirements in class and on public transport.

Markus Söder: No lockdown for everyone

In view of the dramatically increasing corona numbers, stricter rules * have applied in Bavaria since Tuesday, such as 2G in restaurants and hotels as well as a mask requirement even in areas where only vaccinated and convalescent have access.

In a comparison of the federal states, Bavaria has the strictest rules, said Söder.

"Whether it will be enough remains to be seen."

What there will not be, however, is a lockdown for everyone, as this is not constitutionally justifiable vis-à-vis the vaccinated.
