Poing will be the first municipality in the Ebersberg district to offer the MVG bike rental system.
Start should be this year.
Three stations are currently being set up.
Poing - It should be possible to rent MVG bicycles in Poing this year.
As Mayor Thomas Stark reported at the latest municipal council meeting, the preparatory civil engineering work for the planned stations on the market square, on Bergfeldstrasse (near the bathing lake) and on the wildlife park have been completed.
The installation of the steles is planned for this week, all other work, such as the attachment of the stands, should take place afterwards.
“It will be finished this year,” said Stark.
Poing: Three stations are set up
As reported, the municipal council decided in March 2020 to introduce the bicycle rental system of the Munich Transport Company (MVG) - as the first municipality in the Ebersberg district.
You can borrow it using your own mobile phone app; the borrowing fee is eight cents per minute.
Ten bikes are provided for the station at Marktplatz (near the S-Bahn station) and at the wildlife park, and five at Bergfeldsee.
Poing municipal council bears the costs
According to a municipal council resolution, further stations are to be added over the next few years.
This would be possible, for example, at the town hall, at the Seewinkel Center in Poing-Nord and at the Grub S-Bahn station.
However, the municipal council must make a separate decision on this.
According to the MVG, setting up a station for ten bicycles costs 28,000 euros, for five the price is 17,500 euros.
The annual operating costs are estimated at between 5,000 and 8,000 euros.
This includes a 24-hour service hotline as well as maintenance, repair and collection of the individual bicycles and bringing them back to the locations.
The municipality of Poing bears all costs.
