A 28-year-old man was indicted and imprisoned for murder against a background of drug trafficking, after an altercation that took place Friday evening in Lanester (Morbihan), near Lorient, the prosecution announced on Tuesday, November 16.

The facts took place at around 11:45 p.m. on Friday. Police observed a man helping another to get into a car, carrying him at arm's length. A third man "
visibly upset and in apparent drunkenness
" had referred to "
an altercation with two people
" during which "
they had been gassed and beaten
," according to a statement.
The injured man, presumably with a stabbing weapon, died around 3:00 am in the hospital.
He had, according to the investigation, "
a pre-existing dispute, a priori against a background of drug trafficking, with two individuals with whom a meeting had apparently degenerated
", according to the prosecution.
Placed in custody, the suspect admitted "
a dispute related to a drug debt, as well as the altercation
", according to the same source.
Indicted for murder Monday evening, he was remanded in custody.
He faces 30 years of criminal imprisonment, according to the prosecution.
