At the weekend, the corona controls in the Freising district were intensified.

Those who do not follow the rules face fines of up to 5000 euros.

Freising

- The rules are tightened: The 2G rule has been in effect in restaurants and hotels since Tuesday, and Prime Minister Markus Söder is planning 2Gplus for discos.

At the same time, last weekend, when 3Gplus was still allowed in the catering trade, police controls to ensure compliance with the Infection Protection Act were intensified.

As reported, there were seven violations of the current measures during the 50 controls in the Freising district.

Matthias Schäfer, the new head of the PI Freising department, nevertheless draws a positive conclusion.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Awareness-raising and educational work

In Freising, police officers together with representatives of the district office checked around a dozen restaurants, bars and pubs on Friday, reports Schäfer.

They did not have to register a single violation in the cathedral city.

“The controls were kind of a kick-off event.” The focus was on sensitizing the operators to the strict rules.

"The background to these first controls was to provide educational work," says Robert Stangl, spokesman for the district office.

The hygiene concepts were shown and the handling of the controls in the bars checked.

Sometimes it is necessary to remove language barriers;

after all, not every restaurant is a Bavarian inn.

"People should see that it is controlled"

Police officers were in uniform on the way, says Chief Police Officer Schäfer. “The people should also see that there is a check.” Basically, the checks were received positively by both hosts and guests. “If we pointed out the little things, that was also accepted.” Schäfer reports on his personal experience: “I also went to eat at the weekend and was checked in an exemplary manner. As a guest I'm of course happy. ”Because the procedure is not an end in itself, but rather to protect guests and staff.

Overall, the PI boss in Freising is satisfied with the first controls, and the district administration also sees the start last weekend as a success in terms of raising the awareness of those responsible and compliance with the applicable regulations.

This should continue in the coming weeks.

Fine of up to 5000 euros

The district authority and the three police inspections in the district - Freising, Moosburg and Neufahrn - have joined forces and are planning controls with a total of twelve interdisciplinary teams, consisting of food inspectors, executives from the district and municipal regulatory authorities, as well as police officers from the inspections and the riot police, to carry out the controls across the board To be able to expand in the district, explains press spokesman Stangl. Those who do not follow the rules face fines of up to 5000 euros.

District Administrator Helmut Petz appeals to traders and private individuals to observe the applicable regulations.

"Both the current regulations as well as the necessary control measures by the police served the health protection of all people in the Freising district and far beyond," said a message from the district office.
