Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko discussed solving the migrant crisis stranded at the borders of Belarus and the European Union.
And the Russian RIA Novosti news agency quoted a statement issued by the Kremlin as saying today that Presidents Putin and Lukashenko discussed, during a phone conversation between them, the migration crisis on the Belarus border with the European Union countries, taking into account the phone conversation between Lukashenko and German Acting Chancellor Angela Merkel, which took place yesterday.
The two presidents also discussed the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border and joint measures to defend the border.
President Putin had announced earlier that his country is ready to do its utmost to solve the migrant crisis on the border between Belarus and the European Union, while Western countries continue to accuse Russia and Belarus of fabricating the migrant crisis on the Polish-Belarus border in an attempt to evade their responsibilities towards this humanitarian issue.
