Rachida Dati is sounding the alarm.
While a new Paris council opens this Tuesday morning for four days, the mayor (LR) of the 7th arrondissement wants to alert on the city's budget.
To do this, the city council has decided to multiply the channels by writing no less than five letters, addressed to Anne Hidalgo, but also to his deputy in charge of Finance Paul Simondon, to the prefect of Paris Marc Guillaume, to the Minister of Cohesion of the territories Jacqueline Gourault as well as the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire.

“
Since 2019, the level of real revenue for the City of Paris has been steadily declining
,” notes Rachida Dati in the preamble.
In her letter sent to the socialist mayor and dated November 12, the elected representative denounces a "
significant and recurring problem of accuracy of revenue forecasts in which seems to be delighted
" the executive of the capital.
"
The gap observed for several years on many lines tends to take sometimes impressive proportions
", she underlines again, questioning the "
budgetary sincerity
" of the city council, as well as its ability to "
present an account administrative balance for 2021.
"
"Budgetary supervision"
In addition to demanding a number of clarifications from Anne Hidalgo, Rachida Dati also asks the authorities to precisely monitor the Paris situation.
The elected representative thus calls on the prefect of Paris to operate "
a particularly attentive control of the next budgetary, financial and accounting orientations of the City of Paris
", aiming to "
put an end to these dangerous drifts
".
Above all, the elected 7th asks the ministers Bruno Le Maire and Jacqueline Gourault so that the latter, and in particular the Court of Auditors, closely control the finances of the City, and consider putting “
under budgetary supervision
” the capital.

Last month, the Paris council had already seen its share of conflicts.
Rachida Dati had criticized Anne Hidalgo for using her local mandate to assert her national ambitions, while the socialist is also a candidate for the presidential election.
More recently, the former Keeper of the Seals expressed in an interview with

a number of criticisms relating to the management of Paris.

If the rules were followed, Paris would be declared bankrupt today,
