Unvaccinated people in Baden-Württemberg will probably be largely excluded from participating in public life in the southwest from Wednesday. It is assumed that the number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units will exceed the critical value of 390 on both Monday and Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health told the German Press Agency in Stuttgart on Monday.

Stuttgart - It is also unlikely that the number will fall again now, as the often younger patients in the intensive care units will now have to be treated there for significantly longer.

If the mark is exceeded twice, the so-called corona alarm level would be declared - and significantly stricter rules would apply from Wednesday. In this case, the Corona regulation provides for the 2G rule (vaccinated or recovered) nationwide, for example in restaurants, museums, at exhibitions and at most other public events. Those who are not vaccinated and can only show one test are left out in the cinema, swimming pool or fitness studio, in adult education courses and music schools. Schoolchildren have to wear masks again in class.

Of course there are also exceptions, for example for public transport and religious events. Even in retail, the 3G alert does not require a PCR test. Basic supply shops such as supermarkets, outdoor markets and pick-up and delivery offers are also excluded. The stricter rules also do not apply to people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons. Children and young people up to the age of 17 are also not counted.

The tier system in Baden-Württemberg depends on the number of corona patients in intensive care units and the so-called hospitalization incidence, which indicates the number of people who come to a clinic with corona symptoms per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

So far, the so-called corona warning level has applied in the southwest, which has already brought numerous restrictions for many unvaccinated people.

Seven-day incidence in the southwest is increasing slightly

The seven-day incidence of new corona infections in Baden-Württemberg continues to increase, albeit slowly.

As the State Health Office in Stuttgart announced (as of 4:00 p.m.), the value on Wednesday was 85.8 - after 84.9 on Tuesday.

This is the number of new corona cases per 100,000 inhabitants in one week.

Pforzheim is particularly contaminated with 193.6, the Main-Tauber district has the fewest infections with 30.9 infections.
