The Ministry of Transport granted the first license to establish a floating fish farm on Jableh Beach, with an area of 18 dunums on land and 15 dunums of sea, with a production capacity of 400 tons annually.
Ammar Kamal El-Din, Assistant Minister of Transport for Maritime Transport Affairs, said in a statement to SANA that the license was granted to one of the companies after the public auction announced by the General Directorate of Ports was awarded with the aim of investing the site of the integrated fish farming project in the Touq Jableh real estate area.
Kamal El-Din explained that the investing company began constructing four basins and placing floating cages in an experimental manner to ensure their stability, preparing executive plans and rehabilitating the general site to complete the work of the project.
According to the Ministry of Transport, this vital project contributes to achieving economic and productive returns that support food security and production for the local market.
