The Ministry of Health has announced the easing of Corona tests for returnees from abroad and tourists
As part of the relief, passengers wishing to enter Israel will be able to choose whether to perform an antigen test during the 24 hours prior to boarding or a PCR test during the 72 hours prior to takeoff, as currently required.
According to the ministry's announcement, the move is intended to allow testing to be done by an accessible and cheaper means

Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and senior officials in his office agreed today (Thursday) on the relief for Israelis returning from abroad and tourists arriving in Israel. The change in policy, which is expected to take effect subject to government and Knesset approval, PCR testing as required today, during 72 hours before departure.
The relief is intended to allow passengers to be tested by an accessible and cheaper means, and the move is made in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Transport .

A passenger who chooses an antigen test will be required to perform it through a recognized body in the foreign country, and not in a home test.
In addition, a passenger who stays abroad for less than 72 hours will not be required to undergo any examination before departure to Israel, and depending on the current situation. The
obligation to perform a PCR examination after landing at Ben Gurion Airport will remain unchanged.
