Region - District Office and Hospital GmbH informed about the Corona situation in the Weilheim-Schongau district.
The appeal: you should get vaccinated.
When district administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß (CSU) looks around at the press conference, she says that there are “top-class” cast members today.
There sit Christian Achmüller, administrative manager of the Peißenberg vaccination center of the Johanniter, Dr.
Stefan Günther, head of the health department, Thomas Lippmann, managing director of the hospital GmbH, as well as the medical director of the Weilheim hospital, Prof. Dr.
Andreas Knez.

The infection process has "changed drastically," says Jochner-Weiß.
The situation in Weilheim-Schongau is "very, very tense".
She appeals to all citizens to make an appointment: "Avoid overcrowding the intensive care units with a vaccination," said the district administrator.
Because what is to be expected "is not a fourth wave, but a tsunami that is hurtling towards us," said Jochner-Weiß.
Incidence of the vaccinated in 111, of the unvaccinated in 764
Health department chief Günther presents figures and bar charts. "Here at the health department there is a fire under the roof," he says.
Last week 513 cases were reported, the incidence of those who had been vaccinated was just under 111, and the incidence of
those who had not been
vaccinated was around 764.
There were fewer very old people than youngsters and children among those infected. Günther is relieved that municipalities have canceled Christmas markets or are thinking about it. He criticizes those who have not been vaccinated who “confuse freedom with egoism”.
Medical Director Knez gives an insight into what is happening in the hospital.
In Germany there are 4,000 fewer intensive care beds this year because nurses have left their homes.
Next year it will probably be even less.
“The employees are simply exhausted,” says Knez and appeals to be vaccinated and boosted.
A vaccination cannot prevent yourself and others from being infected, but it does protect against severe disease - and can thus prevent hospitals from reaching their limits.
Hospital staff at the limit
“Hospital staff do inhuman things,” emphasizes Lippmann.
The managing director of the GmbH appeals not to show solidarity with applause alone.
You have to "set a clear signal for care".
Regarding the mandatory vaccination for hospital staff, which is being discussed in politics, he is critical - this should either apply to all houses or none.
80 percent of
the approximately
1300 employees at the hospital are currently vaccinated
.
“I think it's a very sensitive topic,” said Medical Director Knez about the compulsory vaccination.
Hospital staff do inhuman things.
Thomas Lippmann (Managing Director Hospital GmbH)
Christian Achmüller gives an insight into the vaccination process.
Last weekend, around
1000 people were vaccinated
, around
700 of whom received booster vaccinations
, according to the administration director of the vaccination center.
At the moment the supply of vaccines is still guaranteed.
Appointments have been reintroduced so that you don't have to turn someone away and plan better.
When is "the spook over"?
There is no criticism of politics.
“I don't want to be stuck in the politician,” says Knez.
Nobody knows when "the spook is over".
It was clear that it would be haunted again.
“Virologists and doctors have predicted what will happen now,” recalls the Medical Director.
Towards the end, the head of the health department Günther predicts something: that everyone, that "every immune system will have to deal with the virus" - the only question is then whether as a vaccinated or unvaccinated.
