The Fraunhofer Horticultural Association around chairwoman Traudl Fischer had prepared a Stulberger hall decorated in autumn.

After all, they hosted the annual general meeting of the Erdinger district association for horticulture and landscape maintenance.

30 of the 37 horticultural associations in the district accepted the invitation.

Fraunberg - "The district association also had to learn to deal with Corona," said managing director August Groh. At the beginning of 2020, the introduction of a gardening guide for everyone was up for discussion. As has just become known, nothing will come of it now. Corona ruined the preparations for the state horticultural show in Ingolstadt and the planning of a teaching trip to Lake Garda. After the spring meeting in March 2020, there wasn't much going on. At least the workshop nature photography in the orchard by Lorenz Voithenleiter with course instructor Klaus Kuhn provided a lot of joy. Rosi Neumeier-Korn published a calendar with the motto “A natural matter of opinion” and was even featured in the gardening guide. "From 2021 we held our virtual meetings via the official license (Zoom) via Zoom on the Internet",said Groh.

The 37 horticultural associations currently have 6918 members - according to the satisfied managing director, an increase of 70 members. Groh presented the pleasing cash report for the prevented treasurer Ursula Weinhuber with a profit of 2,400 euros. The assets are now 33,000 euros.

"During an exciting week in July 2021 at the State Garden Show in Ingolstadt, we offered 500 jars of jam for tasting," reported chairwoman Brigitte Murla. A raffle was held for the children. “Besides that, we were also responsible for watering many beds, that was exhausting,” says Murla. The leftover jams were donated to the Gebensbach community. As a thank you for her commitment to the garden show, Groh presented Murla with a bouquet of flowers - and a bottle of whiskey to her husband Peter, who was the bus driver and grill master. A three-day educational trip to Zell am See is planned for next year, which was presented by Marion Strasser.

At the beginning, Fischer had introduced the host from the Fraunberger Gartlerverein.

Murla then praised Mayor Hans Wiesmaier, who campaigned for three horticultural associations in his community.

Wiesmaier, who has just become a grandpa for the first time, beamed accordingly.

And Vice District Councilor Franz Hofstetter praised the association: “It's good that you exist.” He ensures a flourishing district.

District association chairman Murla was pleased "that we have district consultant Michael Klinger, who has meanwhile become an institution for us that we can no longer be imagined without".

District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer will be the patron of the Open Garden Day on June 12th.

According to Klinger, you can then marvel at the gardens in Grüntegernbach, Grünbach and the teaching garden in Inning.

The new tree species, Sepp Höschl, introduced himself to the meeting.

The 51-year-old secretary and tree nurse from the Finsing horticultural association had successfully completed the course in Deutenkofen with the “Bavarian tree tree” certificate.
